Pastor Rod Dodson

Rod grew up in College Park, Georgia, and joined the United States Navy in February 1984. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1994. Rod met Vivian in 1999, and they married in 2002. They have five children and five grandchildren. Moving from Yokosuka, Japan, to San Diego in 2006, they found their home at Calvary Chapel Santee. Rod served as children’s worship leader for 1 year and worship leader for Edgemoor Convalescent Outreach for 1 year. He also served as Usher/Greeter for five years and led that ministry for 2 years. In July 2012, Rod and Vivian began a new ministry called CC Riders (Calvary Chapel Riders) as an outreach and fellowship opportunity for all motorcycle riders. That ended when Rod retired from the U.S. Navy in Oct of 2013 after 30 years of service, and he and Vivian moved to Harker Heights, Texas. Together they plugged into Calvary Fellowship Bell County and began serving. From 2014 – 2022, Rod served in several ministries. Ordained in October of 2017, he currently serves as worship pastor, church leader, men’s ministry leader/teacher, and counting team leader.
